What Is NVIDIA’s AI Foundations Customizable Generative AI Service
On March 21, 2023, NVIDIA announced the launch of its Generative AI model, which can be adapted to help businesses, create artwork, and aid medical research.
Generative AI tools like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, DAL-E, Microsoft Bing AI and Google Bard have impressed us and now GPU maker Nvidia wants a piece of the pie.
What is NVIDIA AI Foundation?
NVIDIA AI Foundation is a cloud-based generative AI service that you can fine-tune for your business, use for medical research, or create AI artwork. AI models can be trained to generate text, images, videos and 3D content unique to your enterprise. This is especially useful if you can’t afford to build a customized AI model for your business because it’s too expensive or complex.
Of course, this can also be a convenient option if you’re concerned about sharing your company’s sensitive data with other AI models due to privacy and copyright concerns.
NVIDIA AI Foundation is available in three models: NeMo, Picasso and BioNeMo.
nvidia nemo
The NVIDIA NeMo service works in a similar way to ChatGPT, but it’s pre-trained specifically for businesses. This means you can train an AI model by adding specialized skills and knowledge to define its objectives to suit your business.
For example, you can integrate the NVIDIA NeMo cloud service for customer service and marketing materials. Once you train an AI model using data from your business, the AI model can mimic the personality and tone of your brand. It can also help AI models to be more accurate as they rely mostly on the private data of your business.
The NVIDIA NeMo cloud service may also be fine-tuned not to answer questions outside its scope. In other words, you can customize the AI model to only help with questions for your business while locking out sensitive topics like politics or religion that are irrelevant to your business.
There are five NeMo models available with different parameters ranging from 8 billion parameters to 530 billion. If you’re unsure which AI model is best suited for your business, you can consult with an NVIDIA AI expert to assist you.
nvidia picasso
NVIDIA Picasso is a generative AI model that works similarly to OpenAI’s DALL-E image builder. However, NVIDIA Picasso is not limited to images as it can also convert text to video or 3D content.
In addition, NVIDIA Picasso is built for software makers, service providers and businesses wishing to train AI models using copyrighted or licensed data. Alternatively, using pre-trained models, you can add text prompts to create images, videos, and 3D content from scratch.
nvidia bionemo
NVIDIA’s BioNeMo is a pre-trained AI model for biology, chemistry, genomics and molecular dynamics research. To put that in perspective, NVIDIA’s BioNemo will speed up the drug development process – a process that used to take years can be shortened to a few weeks.
In addition, pharmaceutical scientists can choose from six different AI models from BioNemo, depending on the scope of their research. This could revolutionize the future of the healthcare industry.
Who can use NVIDIA AI Foundation?
NVIDIA’s AI Foundation is not available to the general public. However, you can request early access by filling in your company details on NVIDIA’s website. Once your business application is approved, you can access the AI model through a browser or through a dedicated API.
So far, some companies such as Getty Images, Adobe, and Shutterstock have partnered with NVIDIA to develop text-to-image or video AI models. Similarly, more than a dozen large companies, including Deloitte and Morningstar, have already implemented NVIDIA’s AI language model into their business operations. Biotech companies such as Amgen and Insilico Medicines are also using Nvidia’s BioNemo to develop drugs.
NVIDIA’s AI Foundation is a game changer
NVIDIA has partnered with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud to develop its AI models for businesses. On top of that, NVIDIA has decades of experience building the best GPUs on the market—for example, OpenAI used NVIDIA GPUs to develop ChatGPT.
With NVIDIA finally jumping on board, you can access its AI model and customize it to easily perform tasks that fall within the parameters of your business. In addition, you can also adopt NVIDIA’s AI Foundation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of your organization.
